Teen Counseling
Teenagers often have emotional or behavioral struggles at some point while growing up. Some problems are temporary and resolve themselves.
But, when the issues persist or worsen, as a parent, you can be stressed, frustrated, and worried sick.
You may feel lost as to how to help them. You’ve tried everything to get them back on track.
Here are some common struggles that teens have:
-
Excessive worry; anxiety
-
Depression or mood swings
-
Low-self-esteem
-
Peer pressure or bullying
-
Academic struggles
-
Eating and body image issues
-
Dating and relationship issues
-
Experienced a traumatic event(s)
-
Sleep problems
-
Substance abuse
-
Anger, defiance, or aggression
-
Difficulty adjusting to divorce
If your teen struggles with any of the above or other issues, there is hope with therapy.

Safe and Compassionate Therapy for Teens and their Parents
As a therapist who specializes in working with teenagers, I have helped many who struggle. I have a unique ability to connect with teenagers.
Teens feel comfortable opening up to me. This is true in my therapy practice and was also the case when relating to my 3 children and their friends as adolescents.
My teen therapy clients know that I will not judge or criticize them, which empowers them to express themselves.
This DOES NOT mean I don’t challenge their negative behaviors and attitudes. I do address problems when appropriate, but I do it in a way that is gentle enough for them to hear.
I’m also trained in various effective therapeutic approaches that are known to get results with teens and adults.
Therapy Can Help Your Teen Thrive and Be Better Prepared for the Future
I offer tools to help adolescents manage their emotions and behaviors more effectively. I also support you as a parent to help reduce your worries and provide strategies for empowering your child to be the best they can be now and in the future.
Here are some benefits you and your teen can expect from therapy:
-
Feel more secure and have greater self-confidence
-
Manage strong emotions
-
Develop more appropriate behaviors, better boundaries, and greater respect for others
-
Improved relationships with peers
-
Deepen the connection you have with your child
-
Sleep peacefully a night knowing your adolescent child is doing well.
My goal is to empower your teenager to develop greater resilience, confidence, and life skills, leading to more success in all areas of life and more harmony at home.
If you’re ready for your teenager to overcome their challenges and achieve a healthier and more fulfilling life, I’m here to help.
